Beer Festival Ideas from Scottish Beer Festival?

I like the Idea of downloadable staffing and posters for next year so we'll have to get them set up for next year. Also It should be possible to create a new beer list so we can update it during the festival to let people know what people what is still available. But it would be a lot of work to maintain during the festival though. Any others?

 We tried that a few years ago I think, along with a webcam - it was a bit difficult to maintain though. But if you are willing to update it every time a beer goes off then go for it! ;)

As for the downloadable stuff - def a good idea methinks.

I don't know if a constantly updated list would be worthwhile but how about one that's updated twice a day? Before the start of each session and again about 4 or 5pm in time for the evening attendees?
And how about a list at the entrance - that could be updated on a live basis.

The up-to-date beer list is a good idea.
I remember a few years ago on the English bar we put beer lists on the pillars behind the bar and in the hall and scored beers off the lists as they went off.  It only took a minute to go along and update the lists behind the bar when a beer went off. It took longer to do the lists in the hall so they only got updated when there was time - every hour or half hour or so depending on how busy we were. We had fewer punters asking for beers that were finished or hadn't turned up and fewer bar staff going along the bar looking for beers that weren't there. Worth doing again.

Would it be practical to have a laptop at the cash desk to keep an online list up to date?
 
Could anyone lend us some big screens to show an online list in the hall?

Just writing this down here before I forget. Queues outside are impossible to sort unless we move to bigger premises, so how about providing some entertainment outside for all the folk waiting in line? Even just the man who plays banjo outside sometimes would be an improvement for folks...
